Mid-Valley Prelude Symphonia Performs

Posted on: March 2, 2017

Led by instructor Marilyn Tyler, Liberty students who are members of the Mid-Valley Prelude Symphonia performed at the school for Mrs. Huddleston’s fourth grade class and Mrs. Susnik’s third graders.  The seven students, all from the third and fourth grades, played either violins or cellos.  The students meet twice a week for one hour prior to the start of school, and practice several hours a week at home.  The group is open to students in grades 3-5.  The Mid-Valley Prelude Sinfonia (MVPS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose goal is to provide an opportunity for youth in the greater Albany area to play violin, viola, cello, or string bass in a group setting. They offer group classes in several Albany public schools and two youth orchestra groups for more advanced players.  Additional information can be found on their website at http://www.albanystrings.org/
