Superintendent Golden to Address Bond Issue at March PTC Meeting

Posted on: February 22, 2017

Dear Liberty Families:

This coming May, the Albany community will make a significant decision impacting the state of education in the Greater Albany Public Schools District.  At stake is the fate of a proposed $159 million bond issue, which will impact grades K-12 in the District, specifically in regard to building repairs, overcrowding, and job training.  As the Liberty School Community, we owe it to ourselves to be factually literate on this issue.  Our friends and neighbors, many who do not currently have children in the school system, will seek our input on this issue.  To that end, I invite all of you to attend our Wednesday, March 8th PTC Meeting at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria.  Superintendent Jim Golden will be on hand to provide information regarding the bond, such as the actual cost to taxpayers, what projects will be undertaken and how they will impact our District’s students.  It promises to be an interesting evening, aimed at providing our school community with factual information to help us make an informed decision on the May election.  Childcare will be provided, free of charge, at the school.  Please plan to attend – it is an excellent way to model democracy in action and our responsibility to be informed voters.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  Looking forward to seeing you there!

Rich Sipe
